Maxine Maclennan live from ”The Digital Bird’s Nest”

This week's special guest is Maxine MacLennan

Maxine MacLennan is no stranger to music fans across Canada. She has performed extensively throughout Canada and parts of the United States doing shows and high profile showcases for music industry events. She has been a guest on television shows including the East Coast Music Awards (CBC), The Country Beat, (CBC), Up and Coming (ATV), Breakfast Television (ASN), The Tommy Hunter Show (CBC), That Country Feelin' (MCTV), The Joan Kennedy Show (ATV), and many many more. And these days, during the COVID-19 Pandemic, she can be found performing on Facebook's Ultimate Nova Scotia On Line Kitchen Party (COVID Series) and Christopher Cross Music at Homepage. Every show draws between 5,000 and 10,000 viewers. Maxine gives special thanks to the administrators of these venues, and especially Malcolm Joseph Pitre.

Maxine's latest release, Pieces of Me, magically captures ten all original compositions in her own vocal style. The songs are all from the heart and written about the special people and places in her life that have impacted her in some life changing way. Pieces of Me is truly pieces of Maxine. This latest album was co-produced by Maxine, Jon Matthews and Richard Wood and recorded at The Sound Mill in Emyvale, Prince Edward Island.

Prior to releasing her latest album, Pieces of Me, Maxine has recorded and released three other albums, mostly in the country music genre. The three albums Love This Deep, Dream On and There is a Heart were all released and distributed in Canada. A number of singles from all three albums garnered major air play in the Canada, US and Europe. Some even in the Top 10 in Europe and US and Top 20 in Canada. She has also been included in numerous compilation CD's over the years, with various musical artists. Country Music Television (CMT) embraced a number of Maxine's videos including Baby I'm Only Lonely, Fork in The Road, and The Millionth Time, playing them in medium to heavy rotation.

Music is part of Maxine's heart and soul! She started in the industry at 12 years old as the lead vocalist and the the drummer in her father Gordon Gallant's country music band. She played at country dance halls across PEI, selling out to crowds that wanted to hear this young girl perform. From there the rest is history as lead singer in several bands over the years ... country, pop, roots, and east coast music.
